Jacqueline de Rojas on pivotal moments & battling through discrimination

If someone unfairly blocks you in business because you’re 'a woman', find a different, smarter way to get to the top – that’s what Jacqueline de Rojas did!

everywomanClub member Jacqueline de Rojas is the former Vice President and General Manager for CA Technologies UK & Ireland. Jacqueline is a main board member of techUK (formerly Intellect), the 'go to' organisation for presenting the views of industry to government.

Turning a positive into a negative, her most pivotal career moment was leaving a company after they told her "we just don't have women on the leadership team". Jacqueline believes in finding different, smarter ways to get to the top if anyone tries to hold you back.

Lucky enough to have had plenty of support through her career, she still has those mentor-type relationships today at work, believing that it's 'precious' to have someone you know care about your working life. "Role models you can go to and trust will not be less afraid to let you know constructively when something you are doing could be done differently."

Jacqueline's biggest influence is her daughter, "Without her I wouldn't have had to try so hard. She was unplanned – although not unwelcomed – and I was left, through choice, as a single parent. I wanted to make sure she had everything she needed in life".
