Brenda Hoffman

Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Market Platforms, Nasdaq

Brenda Hoffman is the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Nasdaq’s Market Platforms division. In this role, she is responsible for all technological aspects of Nasdaq’s global market operations, trading platforms and market infrastructure solutions that power over 130 institutions globally. Most recently, she led the implementation of Nasdaq’s cloud strategy and completed the migration of the first U.S. Options Market to with Amazon Web Services (AWS). 

Before joining Nasdaq, she was the Chief Information Officer and Group Head for TMX Group, leading multidisciplined technology teams for the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), Venture Exchange (TSXV), the Montreal Derivatives Exchange (MX), and two Canadian clearinghouses: Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC) and Clearing and Depository Service (CDS). 

Brenda and was named Technology Leader of the Year in WatersTechnology’s Women in Technology and Data Awards 2023 and was named 2014 CIO of the Year by the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC). 

Brenda holds an honors Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Waterloo.
