Sam Dunne is a Senior Manager Software Engineering at Discover Financial Services in the Payments domain. With more than two decades of experience, Sam uses her background in quality engineering and governance to creatively problem-solve and mentor teams developing the solutions enabling Discover’s position as a leading direct bank and payments partner.  

In her current role, Sam is leading UK and geographically diverse technology teams building new payment systems in Cloud, Big Data, and Open Source technologies. As a leader Sam thrives on the opportunities to work with great engineers and coach personal development, championing the EMEA Women In Technology group and mentoring Tech Talks for the Discover engineering community. 

Sam’s specialised expertise is helping to shape the evolution of Discover’s payment networks, and supporting the business to adapt to change within the fast-paced FinTech world. 

Outside of Discover, Sam loves to play competitive field hockey as part of an amazing female team for a local club.
