Willow Griffith

Student, Lady Eleanor Holles School

At the Lady Eleanor Holles school, I study Chemistry, Maths, Biology, and Art. At GCSE I achieved 8 grade 9s, 2 grade 7s, and an A* in Further Maths. I am an Arkwright and Art Scholar, and a Youth STEAM Director for The STEM Project. Recently, I won the Atherton Award by making a fully home-compostable shoe from biomaterials (e.g. agar) and I am continuing to explore sustainable materials now using algae. As a STEM Representative at my school, I love helping younger students with their STEM projects and encouraging them to enter competitions such as the Atherton and Arkwright. I have also enjoyed entering the F1 Schools’ Competition, Tech Camp 2022, writing an article for my school’s STEM journal, the National Air and Space Camp 2022, and a week of Engineering work experience at the National Physical Laboratory.
