Mike has led the Rail Team, in what is now the Department for Business and Trade, since 2014, major successes being co-authoring the Government and industry Rail Sector Deal in 2018, with Shamit Weinberger and Anna Delvecchio, and securing key funding for the Global Centre of Rail Excellence, unlocking resources from the Welsh Government and the private sector. GCRE will be a gamechanger for rail and related industries and is already contributing to increasing diversity in the railway.
