Isobel Maslen-Jones

Operations Manager, Amazon

Isobel joined the Transportation & Logistics sector after finishing her Masters in Global HR Management from Newcastle University graduating with a Distinction. She worked for Amazon as an Area Manager for 3 years, managing 50-100 associates at a time as well as running my departments’ operations. Isobel worked in a primarily male-dominated department (known as ship dock) which made her determined to prove that women can do it just as well.

Isobel spent years in this role learning as much as she could by taking on complex projects with a large variety of subjects and eventually became one of only 20 subject matter experts in Europe for that department. Additionally, then spent 8 months as a step-up operations manager which meant it was her time to lead, teach, and inspire a group of managers to become not only great operational leaders but also fantastic people managers.

In this role, Isobel saved the business £569k by improving performance and processes in my department. Recently she has taken up a new role that involves leading process improvement and projects across Amazon sortation centers in the EU.
