- Leigh joined Specsavers as a Dispensing Assistant in 1996.
- Within five years, Leigh was appointed as Store Director, spearheading the opening of Specsavers, Newtownards.
- Seeing the need for specialist dispensing she undertook a degree in Dispensing Optics and specialised in dispensing children and learning disabilities.
- Over the last 15 years, Leigh has grown the store from four to 20 staff, expanded the optical, lab and diversified into hearing.
- In 2016 the store was awarded Investors in People Accreditation, marking the highest standard of people management in the UK.
