Although there has been much improvement in adopting diversity in the insurance industry over the past few years, with many new initiatives helping raise awareness, there is still plenty of room for further progress. In this session key players in the industry discuss the diversity journey so far and how we can continue this progression into the future to ensure we continue to build balanced and inclusive workforces.

10.00am – 10.40am Panel Discussion: How technology is changing the industry and the opportunities it now presents for women
Technology is often cited as a key area to help the insurance industry succeed, key players in this session will discuss how the industry is turning to technology to improve efficiency and increase customer engagement. Plus, we discuss the lack of females behind the innovation and identify the arising opportunities for women in this space.
10.45am – 11.10am Panel Discussion: the impact of culture, conduct and competence in the insurance industry
Embedding a strong workplace culture can be difficult, especially into existing traditonal businesses. In this session we look at the different approaches to creating a strong workplace culture within insurance organisations, and what role women play within this. Hear from industry experts on how best to communicate that change is necessary, challenges they have faced and have overcome, as they touch on relevant case studies within the industry.

11.30 - 12.20pm Panel Discussion: Women, untapped talent: What it takes to operate effectively in a male-dominated industry
Organisations who identify and promote talent without biases, including gender, have often been those that are then best able to compete. In order to succeed it is important those within management in the insurance industry learn to harness the top female talent already within their organisation to boost profitability and growth. We hear from key players as they discuss their own experiences operating within a male-dominated industry and from the male mentors who are investing their time in their top talent.
12.00 – 12.20pm Keynote: Unconscious gender bias in the insurance industry, awareness, impact and team dynamics
Unconscious biases enter the workplace in many different forms, and the insurance industry is no different. Understanding the term and it's meaning is key, in this session we discuss the importance of making sure that all employees at all levels of the organisation are aware of biases and look at what other organisations are doing to tackle them.
12.20 - 13.00pm Panel Discussion: Reverse mentoring: benefits and challenges
With the increase of multigenerational workforces in the insurance industry one of the key trends developing is 'reverse mentoring'. In this panel session we will be joined by people who have embraced the scheme as they discuss the benefits and challenges they have faced during the reverse mentoring process, from barriers with technology, candid feedback and seeing the organisation through someone else's eyes.
