Gayathri Ramamurthy, Sr. Director, Diversity and Inclusion Lead Capgemini India

Gayathri started her career as a professor at a premier woman’s college in Chennai and began her corporate career investing in training across client related processes. Combining her facilitation skills with her QMS lead auditor capabilities and experience, she addressed end to end process changes incorporating training to make change stick.

Through her various roles in HR, she has always taken unchartered territories and shaped the path.

Gayathri joined Capgemini to lead the “senior” hiring practice in talent acquisition.  Under her leadership, in 2017 Capgemini India was listed in the top 100 Best Companies for Women in India. It also received the Edge Move Certificate for Gender Equality, recognising it as a company that goes beyond commitment to gender equality.

 

Gayathri was also recognised in the 2018 World HRD congress Top 100 Global Diversity and Inclusion Leaders.

Top tips

  • Aim it and do it. Prepare well, learn how and when to say no and delegate.

  • Communicate clearly and adjust your communication for the individual or group you’re attempting to reach.

  • Avid curiosity - learn and listen to what is being said and more importantly, to what isn’t being said.

  • In today’s ever-changing economy, acknowledging the changing landscape of talent, understanding your goals and priorities are key to staying relevant in the marketplace.

  • Be adaptable, stay relevant and believe in what you do.
