Cisco everywoman in Technology Awards

In the UK 1.2 million people are employed in the IT workforce but just 23% of it is female, across the UK’s working population this figure almost doubles to 45% (source: e-skills UK report March 2009, Women in IT scorecard).
Launched in 2011, the Cisco everywoman in Technology Awards demonstrate this profession holds a wealth of career opportunities for women and they shine the spotlight on women who are enjoying successful careers. These women will become role models - inspiring more women to excel or choose technology as a career option.

Maggie BerryManaging Director, womenintechnology.co.uk Maggie is the Managing Director of womenintechnology.co.uk, a leading online job board and networking forum for women working in the technology profession in the UK. She has been involved since the organisation’s inception in the autumn of 2004 and manages all aspects of the website and their networking activities. The network now has over 7,000 members and the job board helps a wide range of firms to recruit more women into their IT divisions. Her background is in technology recruitment and she previously worked for NatWest as a Graduate Banking Manager. Maggie is a graduate of the University of East Anglia. |

Dr Sue BlackSenior Research Associate, UCLSue is an inspiring and passionate leader who excels at bringing people together to solve complex issues. She is also an accomplished academic manager and researcher with more than 40 publications and a PhD in software engineering. She chaired the Women in IT Forum, the Intellect Shared Services working group and is currently Vice Chair, Policy and Public Affairs Board for the BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, where she is a Fellow. Rebecca joined Deloitte as a Partner in September 2006 and leads the Firm’s Public Sector Health practice in the UK. Before joining Deloitte, Rebecca spent nearly 20 years at IBM in a variety of sales, HR and business process re-engineering roles. |
