At Cisco we identified a loss of female talent at our middle management level. We felt this was creating the risk of a ‘skewed talent pool’ with which to drive the innovation and future success of the business.
To address this we consulted with everywoman to lend external support and expertise in tackling the identified challenges head on.
Together we initially determined 5 key activities that would a) position Cisco as a place where women could have great careers and b) support women to develop themselves when at Cisco;Leading an industry-wide round table gender diversity debate – to ensure we were fully conversant of the key issues for women in our sector.
Outputs experienced to date;
"This programme of activity has helped to strengthen our female talent pipeline and our senior female executives are now recognised as role models across our industry. Partnering on everywoman’s annual awards programme and leadership academies reflects how Cisco is a great place for female talent to grow and succeed."
Tim Skinner, Director of Enterprise
"Being part of the panel at the 2012 everywoman in Technology Leadership Academy was a brilliant experience. Not only did it give me greater profile within Cisco, but it also helped me to shape my external personal brand and build my network. It was also great to have the opportunity to play my part enabling female colleagues to excel at Cisco."
