Whether you're a sales assistant or Lord Sugar, you need to harness your creativity!

Whether you're a sales assistant or Lord Sugar, you need to harness your creativity!

One thing we can all be sure of is there will always be the need to solve problems, both professionally and personally.

Whether you are a sales assistant or Lord Sugar, harnessing your business creativity in an efficient, and hopefully fun way, can only make you shine in the workplace.

Creativity in Business

Being comfortable with your creativity can sometimes feel like risky business, thinking creatively naturally requires us to think outside the box, moving away from the ‘norms’, and I’m sure we have all experienced co-workers who are less than supportive of ideas which invite change and innovation.

When we allow ourselves to think creatively it helps in problem solving and can create new business opportunites; we can come up with better, more efficient ways of doing things which can impact company profits through cost savings or better customer engagement, for example.

A more personal benefit to allowing yourself to be creative and having confidence in your creativity is that it will shine a spotlight on your abilities and knowledge, which others might not normally have experienced. This can provide career-enhancing opportunities and experiences and will lead to you becoming the go to person when flexibility and creativity are required.

Transport Activity

Want to start getting creative? Open up your creative mind and design an imaginary mode of transport to help transport you towards business success in 2012.

Make sure to tweet us your creative ideas. This will get your creative juices flowing and will provide you with a symbol to inspire creative thinking and approach in the future.

  1. Imagine what will be the mode of transport to drive you to achieve your business goals in 2012 and why

  2. What colour will your mode of transport be and why?

  3. Which inspirational figure/s will be joining you on your mode of transport?

  4. Now draw picture of your mode of transport - it doesn't matter how good or bad an artist you think you are, the finished picture will be that symbol to remind you of being creative.

We'd love to see your finished pictures - please feel free to scan or take a photo and email them to Kate Farrow, we'll post them up on the website to inspire your fellow community members into being creative. Alternatively, tweet about what your mode of transport looks like using the hashtag #EWNC.
