ACCOUNTS

Creating an Account

All new subscribers to the everywoman community are warmly welcomed and registering is simple. Join up here >>

Subscriber, everywomanNetwork Member, Club Member

Once you have registered your details you have the choice of remaining as a subscriber or paying for everywomanNetwork membership (priced at £49.99). Subscribers are able to view most areas of the website, but have limited access to activity other than creating a profile and interacting with the community via personal messaging. everywomanNetwork members pay an annual fee and have access to be active on the website, as well as exclusive development content, resources, discounts and offers. Find out more about everywomanNetwork membership >>

everywoman also has a Club membership - this is for women of influence from across business sectors and the wider community. Members include female entrepreneurs who have built large businesses and senior women from corporations and the wider community including the arts, government and charity. Your Account and Profile

Once signed up, you have the option to complete a profile page, which can display as much or as little as you wish about yourself and your business. Members have the option to keep select details public, private (visible only to friends), or hidden (visible only to yourself) by using the adjacent yellow icons (they look a bit like post it notes!). The more details you provide here, the more likely it is that members will learn about your business. If you choose to submit details, please keep these up-to-date wherever possible.

Your ‘Account’ tab allows you to change security options, to add or change a profile image, and to set notification preferences. Members can choose whether to receive their notifications by private message or by e-mail, and also how often they are alerted.

The ‘Profile’ tab allows you to enter personal details, business details, and any further information about yourself. Members can also 'opt-in' or opt-out, using the flexible options, to receive information from everywoman about news and events.

Making Contacts

Hopefully you will be looking forward to starting and growing your contact list. The best method of achieving this is by getting involved with the different aspects of the site. But you may wish to add contacts as you progress. This is done by visiting a user’s profile and selecting ‘Become username's contact’. The member is then notified, and will accept or decline the request.

Messages

The message system, activated in your profile box (top-right), acts like an e-mail provider, and enables users to send messages to one or more of their contacts. The message facility is equipped with an inbox, a sent folder, and a compose tab. The addressee should be an everywoman username typed in full, and multiple names should be separated with commas.

Searching

A search facility is available at the top of the page. The search results can be sorted and/or filtered by type, by industry, by author, and so forth.

GETTING INVOLVED

A community that wishes to thrive and grow always relies on the co-operation and participation of its members. Being active on the website is exclusive to everywomanNetwork members. There are many ways in which everywomanNetwork members can participate (not an everywomanNetwork member? Find out more here). The major routes to participation are the following:

Networking (Groups/Discussions)

Members are able to create groups and create discussions. Please see the Guide to Networking.

Events

Members can create and list their events on the site. Please see the Guide to Events. You may also like to find out more about everywoman events, such as the National everywoman Conference, and everywoman Awards, which are not only inspirational and educational events, but a great opportunity to meet influential and like-minded women in business. We also have Talent & Performance events throughout the year, and we occasionally host networking events. So, if you wish to attend any of our functions and become involved in person, watch out for details of forthcoming events.

Resources

Members can create content for the site. Please see the Guide to Resources.

Participation comes in many forms. There are alternative ways to get involved, which also help to improve the quality of the site and improve the user experience.

Feedback

Members can provide peer-feedback on resources (articles, videos, etc) in two ways.

  • Comments. Members can submit comments in the allocated space below the content. Please remain polite, and ensure any criticism is constructive. This may encourage the author or contributor to amend their piece to your recommendations. New comments are listed below the content as the most recent contribution.
  • Rate Items. Members can score materials through the 5-star rating system, found near the title of these resource items. Rating articles helps users to determine which material is most useful to themselves and the community, as well as encouraging all contributing members to remain conscious of quality at all times.

Tagging & Flagging

Ensuring that content is tagged with suitable keywords is extremely useful in helping members to find related material that is relevant to their interests. Please see the Guide to Tagging for more details. Equally, it is important that all material is appropriate and relevant. Please report any unsuitable content using the flags, located beneath the content.

Attaching to Groups

You can add your own or other members’ content/events to any group of which you are a member if you believe it is relevant. This is achieved by using the 'Post to Your Groups' tab at the top of that content or event page. Attaching material to groups helps to ensure that community activity and resources are disseminated to the right audience. Please ensure that you do not post irrelevant material to a group. Groups overloaded with irrelevant material may start losing members.
