2011 Specsavers everywoman in Retail Awards Winners Announced
The 2011 Specsavers everywoman in Retail Awards took place on Wednesday, 14 September at The Savoy in London.
The awards encourage, support and celebrate the achievements of women working in this exciting and dynamic industry. With Gaby Roslin as the evening's presenter, and entertainment by CK Gospel, the evening was a great success.
The awards ceremony was attended by 300 of the most inspirational and forward thinking individuals working in the retail sector; the event provided a great opportunity to network and recognise high perfomers in their field.
Harriet Kelsall, Managing Director of Harriet Kelsall Jewellery Design, was named Woman of the Year in recognition of her vision, innovative approach and success which has made her an outstanding role model that will inspire more women to choose a career in retail. Harriet started her business from her spare room, and in just over ten years she now employs nearly 30 staff and achieves an annual turnover of £1.5 million.
The ceremony also saw Mike Goring Managing Director of BHS receive a Lifetime Achievement Award, in recognition of his role in enabling women to reach the senior ranks of the heavily male-dominated retail sector.
