I'm launching my own free local what-do guide for parents in North London and was wondering if any of you wonderful women can give me any tips on how to sell advertising for the magazine.

The title offers parents information on local drop in classes, baby & toddler clubs, museum and library craft sessions etc, as well as relevant features, parenting news and tips and advice from other mums and dads.

I'd really appreciate advice from someone who has experience of selling advertising space, especially classified ads, in terms of the best ways to approach local and national companies and businesses.
