New member/advise
Hi there,
I have just joined the site to enable me to get advice etc on my new venture.
I have recently bought an equestrian website which focuses on sports horses.
I am a retailer for Back On Track products that offer drug free pain relief for horses, humans & dogs. I also supply supplements to aid horses joints.
I have been up and running since December (although I know it is a bad time of year to start) I am not getting the customers in and buying.
I have got google adwords and looking over the last two days I have had 66 hits but still no sales from it.
I will be attending one of my local shows with a stall and also advertised in their booklet. Money is very tight due to the lack of sales being received.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Hi Michelle, welcome to everywoman and congrats on being in business.
You may find it useful to look at the http://www.maxavita.com/animal.aspx website where I get my supplements as it's a beautifully presented site. I also use Robinsons as their Glucosamine is very competitively priced. One of the things you may like to think about is that the word "services" plus your web page branding doesn't make it immediately clear what you're offering. Another thing is you mention 20% vat on your Home Page which may remind people of the ugly truth. I wonder what would happen if you used this page to "spotlight" what you consider your best and most useful product line, especially one that was suited to the seasons. Give some product away and get some great testimonials which you can also put up. You may also find that you need a social marketing strategy including facebook... remember people buy from people and this could help you build a following and make sales. The key thing is to build relationships first, offer great products (and maybe not too many of them), chuck in some cheap freebies (pink headcollars always do down a treat!), and then the sales will come.
Best wishes, KikiMED

Thank you for your comments on my website. It is greatly appreciated to get some feedback.
I am attending an Equestrian Trade fair on Sunday 20th February and hopefully be able to get some more suppliers.
As you said though I don't want to be selling anything and everything.
Thanks again
Michelle
