Missing a trick with events marketing
Hi ladies,
I'm looking for a bit of advice about marketing a monthly half day public speaking programme I'm running. You can see here for what it's all about:
http://www.go-ginger.com/workshops.html
I'm finding that people who go love it, but that it's quite an effort every time to get people along. The price isn't exactly prohibitive (it £65 for companies, £45.50 for charities), but I feel like I'm missing a trick with marketing. What I've tried so far;
1. Some networks & lists. I tend to post there 1-2 times per event (not enough?)
2. My email list of contacts & interested parties. I send group emails & individuals
3. A handful of champions passing on the details to their contacts
4. I'm part of a referrals group, although not sure if I'm using it to full advantage.
I don't currently have an early bird discount, or pay anything for marketing. Advice would be super.
Best wishes,
Sarah

I have a few ideas:
Get to know when your potential clients plan their annual budgets so that you can send information (events calendar, brochures) at the right time. They would then set aside set a pot of money especially to attend your training.
Develop relationships with HR/Marketing personnel by attending their key annual events
I have had a quick look at your website, would it be possible for you to add a tab for testimonials and a clients list?
Your about section could be more about how your services would benefit your potential client, information about yourself could go in subcategory called biography
Collect customer testimonials
Keep in touch with with your attendees by sending regular email campaigns and newsletters
with the aim of getting your client to act e.g register by xxx and get a 10 percent early bird discount.
I would recommend a copywriter for your email campaigns/newsletters and PR to get some coverage for your successful events
