Fun Ironing

After the storm

After the storms yesterday I ventured out to see our Kilmarnock willow was sideways but my husband managed to save it. When I watched the news and saw the devastation to various areas I was grateful that we got away to lightly.

Blowing a hoolie out there.

I'm so glad I didn't have to venture outside this afternoon. Its gale force winds out there and my part of the globe is under an amber weather warning. Feel really sorry for those folk that have to go out.

So pleased

Just delivered my first ironing job back to my client.  It was 2 pairs of king sized duvet sets.   She was absolutely delighted with my efforts and wanted to pay a bit extra than what I charged but I refused.   This is my first recurring ironing client.   What a buzz you get when someone is so complimentary on you work.  Still need "word of mouth" recommendations or maybe I need patience that my work and name will filter through.    I think a cup of grean tea to celebrate.

I'm excited

I've had a lovely conversation with my first customer.  She recommended me to a friend with the words "her work is outstanding, efficient and a pleasure to deal with".  I'm so thrilled.

Housework by Helen

Housework by Helen

Hello, my name is Helen Rumbold and I live in Largs, North Ayrshire. I've very recently decided to go into business for myself and I offer a cleaning and ironing service called Housework by Helen. I have 2 customers so far which I'm extremely happy about and their feedback has been wonderful. Unfortunately they live about 15 miles from me so the the "word of mouth" - which is extremely important, may take some time to filter to my small town. I've got flyers in the local shops and cafes and now have my logo on my car. Any advice anyone can offer would be much appreciated.
