Mavis Amankwah (Rich Visions)Rich Visions International Ltd
Rich Visions Ltd is the only UK communications agency specialising in targeting minority ethnic groups. They provide specialist marketing, recruitment, training and events services to public and private sector organisations.

Before Rich Visions joined Supply London, the company was struggling for survival and did not have the means to bid for crucial new contracts effectively. It needed help understanding the tendering process in order to win future government contracts.

A helping hand
Having joined Supply London, Rich Visions was assigned a Supply Chain Advisor who helped the company increase their knowledge in financial and business development. Staff from the company also attended workshops and events and received useful information on upcoming tenders. With Supply London’s guidance, Rich Visions is also now registered on relevant websites to ensure it hears about forthcoming contracts.

Results
The results of Supply London’s guidance speak for themselves. To date Rich Visions has won contracts with the Central Office of Information (COI), and other public sector bodies to the value of £180,000. In April 2008 they became an Official Approved Supplier on the Cultural Diversity Framework and Approved Supplier List administered by the COI, which distributes contracts worth approximately £3m per annum. Other high profile clients from the public and private sector include Defra, The Home Office, Lloyds TSB and the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

Recognition
In recognition of this success, Rich Visions recently won the Communication and Media Award at the 9th annual Gathering of Africa Best Awards.

RGERGE Services

RGE Services offers property services, mechanical and electrical installation, maintenance and repairs and has worked with the public sector since its establishment in 1985. The company has recently expanded and relocated to Ilford, Essex.

The company recognised that to continue winning new contracts it would have to address significant changes in procurement procedures in the public sector. Supply London offered RGE the expert advice and guidance it needed to make these changes.

How Supply London helped
Staff from RGE Services attended workshops which explained the requirements of tendering for public service contracts. There they developed specialist knowledge on the kind of information required in this process and the appropriate way of presenting it.

Supply London also assigned an advisor to RGE Services in order to review its existing internal policies, checking whether they were robust enough to meet the demands of a formal tendering process.

The Supply Chain Advisor also notified them of new opportunities to submit tenders for contracts and, where necessary, guided staff through the application process by helping to fine-tune the company’s submission.

Results
RGE Services has recently secured a number of contracts with Local Authority and Housing Associations. An employee said, “Supply London has helped us to modernize our procedures, improve our tendering technique and take a more effective direction in developing our new business activities”.

Flexible FilmsFlexible Films Ltd
Flexible Films is a film production company specialising in the creation of high quality films for businesses, training organisations, public sector bodies and charities.

Changing needs
While the company had been successful since its inception in 2002, the small team at Flexible Films recognized the increasing demands involved in bidding for public sector contracts. The point was reinforced when the company failed to secure a contract with previous client Newham Council. The cause? It could not demonstrate the procedures required by public contract tendering process.

A helping hand
After registering with Supply London (SL) Flexible Films was assigned a Supply Chain Advisor, who helped finalise the company’s policies, assisted in identifying new contract opportunities and helped fulfill the various tendering requirements.

Results
The combination of Flexible Films’ own technical knowledge, with the procedural understanding given by Supply London has enabled the company to compete effectively for a range of new work. Company Director Sybil Ah-mane commented “If it hadn’t been for SL we would have had no chance of competing for large tenders”. Since working with SL Flexible Films has won contracts with the following organisations: Thames Innovation Centre, London Dramatics Association, Values into Action, Racial Equality Foundation and Oxleas NHS Trust charity.

CTI Ltd
CTI Ltd is a Career Management and Human Resource Consultancy working in partnership with individuals and businesses to achieve personal or business objectives. The company works with individuals by providing executive coaching and mentoring services for personal and business development in the workplace.

Supply London (SL) has been working with CTI Ltd for four years. During that time, SL has helped the company to develop the policies and practices needed to compete for the larger contracts that it was previously unequipped to bid for.

Initially, the company attended a Tendering for Contracts workshop, learning the basics of creating a successful tender. An advisor was also assigned to provide CTI Ltd with advice and guidance on marketing and procurement.

As a result of this process, CTI Ltd now has the capability to compete for bigger contracts and is approaching the final stage of selection to be a preferred supplier for coaching and mentoring a large county council.

CTI Ltd Director Elisabeth Tootill commented, “The guidance from SL was extremely helpful and without this I am not sure if we would have been short listed and selected for the second stage”,

CTI Ltd clients include:
Barnardo’s, Citizens Advice Bureau, Marks and Spencer Ltd, Shell International Ltd and various London Borough Councils.
